When do I need to convert?
If you move to Germany from a non-EU country, your foreign licence is usually valid for 6 months. After that you must convert it to a German licence to keep driving.

Documents
- Original foreign licence (with translation if required)
- Current biometric photo
- Vision test (not older than 2 years)
- First-aid course certificate
- ID (passport or ID card + registration certificate)
